Aircraft Flight Visual Simulation And Cockpit Display Software Implementation

Flight visual simulation is an application of visual simulation in the aviation and spaceflight field. It plays an important role in training pilots, exercise the tactics and evaluating the dynamic characteristic and quality of flight.The"plane flight visual and cockpit display simulation"in this paper is a component of the"airborne data-link and fire-control system simulation system"platform, and is implemented by some development instruments such as Visual Studio2003.net, Vega Prime and OpenGL. The friend plane and enemy plane's position and orient angles are calculated by simulating the plane flight, at the same time the simulated cockpit display provides a friendly man-machine interface to operator.Firstly, the background of this project is introduced. Based on the system's aims and function, the idea is put forward and the framework simulation system is established. The software used in the simulation are given as well. Secondly, the flight equations are modeled based on aerodynamics theory, which are solved by Runge-Kutta theory and the important dynamics data are got to drive the plane. Thirdly, models such as planes, scene, Head-up-Display, multi-functional display and central control panel, out and in cockpit, are established by applying the professional development software, which assures the better simulation characteristic such as being real-time, legible and reality. At last, the flight visual and cockpit display simulation system in the form of software is discussed in detail, including the different modules with different functions. The relevant simulation method and flow are proposed too. The discussion on key technique used in the system is given as followed.The simulation system of plane flight visual and cockpit display simulation has accomplished the development and test work and been embedded successfully in airborne data-link and fire-control system simulation system framework. After test in practical work, the flight and cockpit simulation has proved to be stable and reliable. It can meet all the technological parameters'demands of the simulation platform.
