Based On The Vega Simulation Flight Simulator

The flight scene simulation is an important part of the flight simulation, and its visual effect and reality degree will influence the whole flight simulator directly. The constitutes of flight scene system, the building and display of the scene were discussed, and some software used to build scene system was introduced. Some application and the key technology of the VR technology were used in the flight scene simulation.Vega is an in common use development tool for virtual reality applications. Two software related with Vega are Creator for modeling and Lynx for integrating virtual scene. This paper introduces the main characters that a realtime application, and describes the characters and module functions of Vega. Creator and Lynx functions are introduced. The main process of creating a 3D realtime application is described as an emphasis.In order to observe the simulation procedure more directly, DIS system equipped with visual display system. The system construction and realization of program are given in the paper. Some key technologies such as net communication interface is analyzed .To make full use of many powerful Matlab toolbox functions, we use client—server telecommunication system model. So the server has the ability to call local Matlab toolbox functions automatically to do data analysis, and takes advantage of C+ + and Matlab respectively.This paper also describes the key techniques for constructing a large scale 3D terrain model, including terrain segmentation, multi resolution model management and realizes large—scale Terrain Scene with the combination of LOD and Frustum Clipping techniques.After testing, it is testified that all the tester's functions are satisfied as anticipation and the demand of precision is achieved in design.
