As an advanced management theory which’s based on Information Technology, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is not only the most advanced theory about enterprise management, but also the best solution for firms’information integration. And Manufacturing Planning and Controlling, the important part of ERP, is always the main content of enterprise management and plays a key role in it in both the Manual Workshop Age and IT Age.Now the development of ERP in China is entering a new phase in which the firm begins to care more about the demands of manufacturing management and the difference of Industries. In contrast to this, the ERP software designed by Chinese companies are still can’t compete with foreign software because of the not long history and uneven performance.Collaborative Manufacturing Management Platform (CMMP) which is designed by Shan Dong Hoteam Software Company is weak in manufacturing planning and controlling, so in order to optimize and improve CMMP, in this paper a manufacturing planning and controlling system based on Assembly-to-order (ATO) mode is proposed in the basis of CMMP’s original framework and the classic manufacturing planning and controlling system of ERP.On the view of software engineering, this paper carries out some research on the manufacturing planning and controlling system based on ATO mode and designs its function model, data model and logic processes by using modeling tools, such as the IDEFO, Entity-Relationship Diagram and Logic Flow Diagram.The content of this paper was mainly comprised of five parts.Firstly by analyzing the manufacturing planning and controlling processes of a heavy machinery manufacturer and the manufacturing planning and controlling function of some Chinese ERP systems, this paper concludes the problems in enterprises’ manufacturing management and ERP systems’ designing.Secondly this paper discusses ATO mode’s influence on the manufacturing planning and controlling system, designs the business process of the manufacturing planning and controlling system based on ATO mode and proposes the demands and total purpose of this system. Thirdly by researching the classic manufacturing planning and controlling system of MRP Ⅱ/ERP and the characters of ATO mode, this paper proposes a function mode of manufacturing planning and controlling system and describes the model itself, the parts of the mode and the relationship of the parts by using IDEFO.Fourthly this paper researches software’s methods of making the master production schedule, the rough-cut capacity planning and the final assembly schedule which mainly contents how to calculate the variables of MPS, how to build the Capacity Bill, and how to optimize the sequence of FAS. In basis of these, the Program Flow Diagrams about how to realize these functions by using software are also designed in this paper.Fifthly this paper analyzes the entities and the entities’relations of the MPS module and FAS module, designs the data models of these two modules by using the Entity-Relationship Diagram.The last but not the least, this paper analyzes the human computer interaction processes of the MPS module and FAS module, and also designs the interfaces of these two modules.
