The Domestic Public Participatory Journalism Development Analysis

Since the rise of the internet media, the relationship between it and the public sphere has been disscussed. Although it is said that China does not exist the public sphere, we can not deny the its important function to a normal society. With the development of the internet media, the public sphere is bred in the internet. In the Chinese society, public opinions can not reach the upper level effectively. The opinions formed in the internet have not played its expected role in the society, but as a relatively independent voice, they are very precious. The public participatory news, as a kind of communication phenomenon, which was born and is developing in the internet, can provide different opinions from the mainstream news and promote the equal dialogues between different social groups for a healthy society.As INXIAN series a case study, the research used methods of the qualitative research, including observation, interview and material analysis. By collecting relevant literatures, taking in-depth interviews and analyzing the news report presentation, this paper discusses many factors in the INXIAN series’development. The author hope this microscopic study can help others to join in the public participatory journalism, so as to promote the Chinese public to actively participate in public affairs.The qualitative research can make the researchers view the social phenomena from the "participant perspective" and such microscopic study has its unique value. Most of the current researches about the public participatory news stay on the macro research level, this study is based on the microscopic research and can help people understand the communication phenomenon specifically.Through the case study of INXIAN series, five key factors are found during the development of the public participatory news. A good command of Internet and mobile technology is the foundation, and opinion leaders paying positive attention to public affairs of is the core. Besides, relaxed Internet environment are necessary. Localized development and cooperating with traditional media are the future trends. This paper also discussed its profit model.
