Effort On Western Media Reviving Pubic Sphere And Construction Of China's Media In Public Sphere

This paper is on efforts the western media made on reviving public sphere and construction of China's media in public sphere.The paper aims to reveal the special significance of Juergen Habermas'theory on public sphere to China which currently remains the stage of shift through analyzing his theories'concept, value and realistic meaning. Meanwhile, It observes the construction of Chinese media in public sphere and explores the countermeasures for her growth by reflecting the course of birth, development, decline and revival of the public sphere.Through research, the paper points out that China's public sphere is hard to make due to the influence from her history, politics and cultural background. It doesn't come into being until China practiced reformation and opening-up, and especially socialist market economy was established . With the development of political democratization and benefit from western journalism theories,China has been endeavoring to construct her media in public sphere in practical aspect. Her future healthy progress depends on the perfection of media ecological environment and system and the spirit of journalism professionalism .
