A Study On The Public Journalism And Its Practice In China

At the last century , the rise of public journalism attracts significant attention in the regional of US media. The striking dissimilarity of public journalism to ancient news lies in its united action within cities, bringing topics together, intervening public affairs directly, trying to address the eye-catching problems.The public journalism has had great effects on the American society and journalism, and has been gradually spreat to Australia, Korea and other places.To the beginning of this centur y, the public journalism has also been concerned in the theory and practice of Chinese journalist community , in comparison, the inland academia paid so little attention to the subject that there hasn't been any monographs or translations born, and most of the related papers just introduced the basic situation of the public journalism but lack deep theoretical discussion. Thus, based on the prior introductions, this paper will analyze public journalism on the Other Side of the Ocean and the emergence and development of our situation, then in light of our national conditions and the Chinese speaking context, try to grasp the problems that should be noted as we practice public journalism, to explore the development of a Chinese style public journalism.
