With the continuous development of the railway transport, the construction of the railway information network and application of information system have been become the important measure and basic guaranty of promoting the fast-forward of rail transport; Building a safe, stable and efficient information network has been become an important indicator and content of railway informationazation development. Based on the analysis of current construction of the railway information network, and the research of network application demands of Inner Mongolia Railway Company, the thesis proposes the feasible solutions of construction of Gigabit Backbone Information Network for Inner Mongolia Railway Company. Meanwhile, it applies MSTP technology in network design as the interface of communication and information network devices, which solves the general network interface problem, reduces the physical layer structure of the network efficiently and enables the easy realization of Gigabit network than the traditional optical fiber, cable, etc. In addition, the essay analyzes the characteristics of QoS technology, proposes the design rationale and implementation methods of taking full advantage of QoS technology to realize Gigabit backbone network construction, and conduct detailed research of the implementation process and configuration methods of QoS technology in construction of Inner Mongolia Jitong Railway Company’s Gigabit backbone network. The successful application of QoS technology in Gigabit backbone network construction of Jitong railway ensures the safe operation of backbone network of Jitong railway, which also improved utilization of network resources. The application of this technology is a signification attempt to optimize network resources and improve the network efficiency in construction of railway information network. The essay provides practical technical reference to information network construction for other railway industries.
