The MSTP ,namely multi-services network platform, develops above the SDH technology base. It's a kind of new generation of transmission technology with the extremely widespread application. It's compatible with PDH technology and SDH technology. It is a multi-services network platform which is a composition of ethernet, MPLS, RPR and so on .The MSTP technology proposed in 20th century's end, just started was wants to transmit the ethernet connection service in the SDH network, meets the new need which appeared, the ethernet service had 10M/FE/GE the connection type, originally resulted in based on the TDM service the SDH system only could satisfy when a smaller band width may use N (N >= 1) the E1 electric circuit to add on the E1/ ethernet switch to realize the point-to-point ethernet service.Along with the greater band width service transmission demand, the spot to the multi-spots, the hypothesized LAN net and so on the higher request service propose the demand, the original simple treatment way could not satisfy the request, needed the new technology to appear realizes, MSTP at the right moment was born.MSTP was has collected the TDM service (SDH) and the ethernet service, ATM (POS)and so on the knot synthesis, was recently several years develops.It is at first provides in the SDH system to the ethernet service port.But along with the technical unceasing progress, MSTP has experienced the first generation mainly is the point-to-point ether service transparent transmission, second-generation spot to multi-spots application two exchanges collections function.Now, it developed third generation's MSTP, it has used the GFP technology (general grouping agreement), the empty cascade and LCAS(dynamic link adjustment), MPLS, RPR and so on technology.LCAS was defines has been nimble, dynamically, does not need to change transmits the empty cascade signal band width the method, in order to automatically adapted the effective service.Its characteristic is the ethernet-like band width dynamic change data service, (empty cascade group) dynamic real-time adjusts the VC number through VCG in the network management system function in VCG ,thus fast adapts the upper formation service band width demand.The empty cascade is the LCAS realization foundation, the empty cascade realization band width dynamic alignment MSTP function obtained a bigger development, in the band width adjustment the non-damage original service.The MSTP multi-services network platform now already was allowed to realize the many kinds of services: (1) TDM special line, like E1, E3, STM-X and so on.(2) The point-to-point special line of ethernet, the realization has supported VLAN and the ethernet TPS protection, the grouping current capacity to the MPLS tunnel mapping, may use the MPLS technology and the ethernet two technologies realizes.(3) To the multi-spots gathering ethernet special line, has realized theL2 exchange and the L2 gathering, the field at present may support the RCG direction number is 128 directions, can provide FE to GE; N x FEto FE; N x GE to GE service gathering.(4) The wave length special line, has realized the end-to-end protection ability, as well as the realization has 34M-10G SDH, ATM, IP, physical connection and so on GE/FE provision, as well as can duplicate use with the nimble about leg.(5) The MPLS service, is the comparison has the prospect the new service.Transmission type MPLS through inserts the MPLS function, realizes the MPLS VPN isolation function, may the low cost application large-scale enterprise different application system identical physical platform nimble network connection.In the data networking MPLS the VPN service, may the very low cost realization ethernet network and the NGN network connection service ,like the Guangxi telecommunication company's NGN network.(6) Exchanges the SDH ring net ethernet service based on ethernet two to turn on, namely divides the independent channel in the SDH ring netband width to support the ethernet service turning on.It in either a many users sides ethernet physics connection and or between a many independent systems sides VC channel, realizes based on the ethernet link level data frame exchange, provides the statistics which many ethernets service flows to turn round with the bandwidth shares.(7) The RPR ring net ethernet turns on the service, divides the independent channel in the SDH ring net band width to support RPR(elastic grouping exchange) the technology, is RPR that inlayed in MSTP way.It in either a many users sides ethernet physics connection with or between a many independent systems sides VC channel, realizes theethernet link level and between the RPR link level data frame exchange function, and has the RPR pro and con two directions both to be allowed the transmission service unique function, compared to uses the ethernet two exchanges the MSTP way band widths to increase, has the topology automatic diagnosis function, supports turns on the control and the entire net band width assignment fair mechanism.(8) Using the MSTP rich service connection ability (FE/ATM/IMA and so on),may nimbly be the 3G network provides the safe reliable networkability.(9) Middle MSTP also unceasingly is developing.
