Analysis On Guangxi’s Images On Newspaper Reports On Asean Exposition

China-ASEAN Exposition (CAEXPO for short), which has been held for sevensuccessive years since2004, is one of significant economic events in China. Not onlydoes CAEXPO bring more opportunities for Guangxi’s development, it also makesGuangxi the focus of newspapers by reports in which Guangxi’s images would bepresented to all audience.This dissertation consists of four chapters. In the first chapter is the literaturereview of the regional image/identity in media. The second chapter interprets theconcepts related to regional image/identity in media. The third chapter, the mainchapter of this paper, summarizes Guangxi’s images on selected newspapers byquantitative and qualitative research. Besides, this chapter also discusses some defectsin these CAEXPO reports which are considered as a means of building Guangxi’snew images. Media strategies based on the research are put forward in the fourthchapter.
