Mobile phone becomes more and more important in people’s daily life. Smartphonebecomes a powerful personal handheld device. It also becomes ti be a new platform fordevelopment. Android is a smart phone operating system based on the Linuxkernel.Today,the Android operating system has developed rapidly. It becomes the topoperating system after Symbian operating system.This thesis analysed the smart phone operating system Android, including itsplatform architecture and composition, and learned Android kernel source code. Then inthe Unbuntu Linux environment, it completed changing of the Android code, debuggingand compiling.Finally it finished a stable Android smart phone platform on TelechipTCC8900board.The main work of this thesis accomplished is as follows:1. Firstly describes the characteristics and the framework of Android systemplatform.2. It analyzs and compares the Android kernel and Linux kernel, describes theAndroid specific drivers.And then it focuses on transplantation of boot processBootLoader and Android kernel.3. This thesis analyzs and designs some typical driver in the Android platform.Italso makes the detailed analysis of the kernel configuration, compilation, andprogramming process.Android system transplanted to the ARM11platform will improve the developmentof applications on Linux.On the other hand,I completed the work of compile andtransplantion on the Linux Kernel based on the in-depth analysis of Android sourcecode. It helps me to master and consolidate the technology of Linux and Androidplatform.It also has great significance to the follow-up work.
