Recent years, technologies related with computer are widely used in many fields, especially in people’s life, scientific research and business, accompany with it, the use of local area network is becoming popular. In local area network, high quality of data communication is the necessarily guarantee of the normal use of the network. In distributed simulation platform, quality of the data communication is the key point of the simulation. At present, although the development speed of computer software and hardware is very fast, and is becoming faster and faster, however, due to the complicated simulation tasks, cumbersome transaction processes, and long time simulation period and frequent data communication, which leads to the unreliability of the data communication, the simulation can’t be continue.Considering the problem of the distributed simulation platform, a data communication protocol for distributed simulation platform based on traditional LAN is designed and the related problems in communication are partly solved. After carefully study of the communication process, a series of special data communication protocols, interface standards and communication process are designed to meet the requirements of simulation platform. At the same time, in order to satisfy the throughput of the data communication between different sub systems, TCP and UDP protocol are carefully choosed. In low throughput systems between user and task scheduler, in order to ensure the reliability of data communication, TCP protocol is used; but for the communication between the coupler and the executing machines, because of their frequent, large amount of data throughput, UDP protocol has to be used to reduce the unnecessary communication connection. Because of the unreliability of the UDP protocol, the algorithms to improve the reliability of the data communication within the distributed simulation platform are studied.Firstly, in this paper, the research background, significance and research status at home and abroad and the main work of this thesis are discussed; then the simulation platform structure and its work flows are given; based on the previous knowledge, communication processes between the sub-system are discussed in details, requirements of the communication interface are analysis too; Secondly, the design objectives and functional requirements of the system communication are discussed, the methods of how to improve the reliability of data communication is discussed, some feasible solutions for it are put forward; Finally, function test of the data communication for the platform are provided, and the summarize for this paper are given.
