For the moment, most simulation soflwares on communication system are not designed to run on a network. Because of the limited performance of single computer, it would be too slow to simulate a relatively complex communication system with high fidelity. To solve this problem, we bring forward the project of constructing an Internet-based Distributed Interactive Communication System (IDICS) simulation platform. This platform utilizes network resources and the strength of parallel processing, to carry out high quality simulations with common hardware and resources. The platform is an effective tool for research on simulation of complicated communication systems. The feasibility of the project is also aggrandized by the rapid growth and wide spread of Internet. The network communication is one of the most important parts of the simulation platform. To enhance communication quality over Internet, We design the HTTP-based Simulation Platform Network Communication (SPNC) Protocol. In this protocol, we use heartbeat mechanism, validity and continuity test to ensure the reliability of the transfer process under intricate conditions; we also put forward the Multi-Channel Transfer (MCT) method and it's subsidiary measures including the Green-Channel, the first-send, the criterion of T to improve the transmission efficiency. In the evaluation of IDICS simulation platform, we simulate a m-QAM communication system. The result indicates that the network communication part is functioning with expected performance. Our research on Internet-based network communication is also valuable to other network application such as network-based multimedia communication and remote education.
