Public library is a place that gathers and transfers knowledge for the majority of public.That is the reason why public libraries attracts so much public attention. Radio FrequencyIdentification (RFID) is an established technology (since2001) to take over the repetitive tasks:check out, return of items, sorting and inventory control. RFID-Systems have a maximum effectif there is also a good room planning which supports their function and the frequency of their useUsing literature review, comparative study, case studies and integration research methods, thispaper analyzes the current status of implement of RFID in public library. By comparative studiesand case study of implement of RFID in public library between China and America, the authorputs up problem-oriented proposals and programs for the implementation.This paper is divided into6chapters: Chapter1describes the research background, researchobjectives, methods, etc. Chapter2analyzes current research in the application of RFID in thefield of library. In Chapter3, based on research of the literature review, the author introduces thecases of the application of RFID in public library in America and China based on the account ofits background. In Chapter4the author analyses the Similarities and differences between Chinaand America. In Chapter5, the author gives the suggestion to implement of RFID system inpublic library of China on the perspective of project management. Chapter6summarizes keypoints, contributions, limitations of this paper, and gives recommendations for future research.The main contributions of this paper is the analysis of the case of application of RFIDtechnology in China and the United States Public Library with an international perspective, andconcepts to integrate project management into construction of public library RFID systems.
