Teaching-assistant periodicals, which started publication early in Guangxi,have long been in a significant position in the periodical market in Guangxi. Theyhave made contributions to the education in China and gained great social andeconomic benefits. Since the beginning of the21st century, affected by theeducation reform and the changes in government policies concerning thecirculation of teaching-assistant periodicals, they have seen big changes inpublication and circulation, and are currently in an unfavorable condition ingeneral.The thesis gives an all-round, deep and systematic analysis to theteaching-assistant periodicals published in Guangxi, based on on-the-spotinvestigations into the publishing organizations of teaching-assistant periodicals inGuangxi, as well as on authors’ years of working experiences in one of theorganizations, using the method of literature research and content analysis,.Apart from the Introduction and the Conclusion, the thesis is divided intothree parts. The first part shows the course of development of teaching-assistantperiodicals published in Guangxi, and induces its characteristics, trying to presentthe overall situations of those periodicals. The second part deeply analyzes theimpetus as well as the bottleneck of their development from the perspectives offactors inside and outside of their publishing organizations. The third part comesup with scientific and rational prediction of their future development, based ontheir development course and its characteristics, as well as current publicationconditions, and puts forward feasible strategies for the future development, whichfully take the impetus and bottleneck discussed in the second part intoconsideration.
