With the development of sensor technology, distributed information processing technology, computer technology and wireless communication technology, wireless sensor network provides an effective solution for safety monitoring system. However, different monitoring network application determines different wireless sensor network topology. Multiple functions in a network structure will make the design complexity, and it will be contrary to the wireless sensor network design principles. According to the different requirements of the scene design and the applied communication protocol can put the network performance to maximize and it also save the cost of the network. For example in the underground pipe network monitoring system, using sensors to collect pipeline environment information, through the monitoring node which comprise a linear topological structure of the network,the environmental information can be transmitted to the user terminal, so it can realize the monitoring function.Therefore, I engage in the research of underground pipeline application in the background of wireless sensor network. I design the protocols of wireless sensor network based on the research background, and introduce a new network protocol named Wireless Sensor Network Protocol for Line Topological Structure. The hardware of the design takes TI’s new system solution CC2530chip as the carrier, and realize the protocol stack program under IAR development environment.The protocol only need cover the linear structure, but not the entire plane. This thesis is around long linear topological structure of the network protocol system. I analyze the features of the underground pipeline monitoring. In view of the traditional IEEE802.15.4standard short distance transmission protocol issues, including the node layout problem, data fusion method, routing mechanism, and time synchronization, I put forward the solution methods. My solution methods focus on the network partitioning, node density, net energy balance, data fusion, time synchronization and routing problem.Wireless Sensor Network Protocol for Line Topological Structure is according to the framework of IEEE802.15.4standard. From the top to the bottom division in the protocol stack is application layer, network layer, MAC layer and physical layer. Between the layers, data interface and service interface is used to realize the data transmission and the transmission of the control command. This thesis describes in detail the function of each layer, the definition of interface, function call, and key techniques’algorithm design and working process. Wireless sensor network in underground pipeline application has the very realistic significance, which solves the problem of the traditional human patrol monitoring method, and realizes the electronic data storage with the advantage of convenient management. Wireless Sensor Network Protocol for Line Topological Structure has the characteristics of strong real-time, high safety, stable and reliable characteristics.
