Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is a hot topic in recent years, and its basic principle is to use the RF signal, the spatial coupling and transmission characteristics to achieve automatic recognition of moving and stationary objects, and it is made up of readers, RFID tags,antennas and back-office services.The UHF RFID reader is working at the frequency of860-960MHz, and it can read and write the ISO/IEC18000-6C, ECP Global RFID tags of the C1G2protocol at a certain distance.This thesis is come from the actual application requirements, in the market, although there are various types of UHF readers, but for some of the small terminal equipment, the UHF readers are unable to meet the application requirements in size, power consumption or cost. Therefore, it’s very urgent to research a kind of miniaturization, low power, low-cost UHF RFID reader module.Firstly, this thesis introduced the history, current situation and development trend of RFID technology briefly, and then states the background of topics and papers on the organizational structure.Second, this thesis introduced the basic theoretical knowledge of RFID, emphasizing the electromagnetic field theory, and then states the concept of UHF RFID, and then described the organizational structure of the UHF RFID system.Third, it’s important to choose the right chip according to the project needs through the comparison of several chops of a few large companies, and then select PR9000and control chip, and then analysis the chip’s introduction and performance indicators, at last, determining the development process.Finally, design the reader’s circuit, introducing the transmitting circuit, receiving circuit, the PLL loop filter, the temperature compensated crystal oscillator, control circuitry, power management circuitry and PCB and other parts of the design, and then welding, debugging and performance optimization, until reach the performance.
