Abstract/Summary:
This thesis addresses two separate topics. The first topic is the software development work to the Radio Frequency Identification Class 1 Generation 2 (RFID C1G2) architecture. Two reader-tag interface programs were created targeting the Intel R1000 mini reader and the TagSense Micro-UHF reader, respectively. The second topic is the software module written for the regular operation of NASA's Remote Electronic Unit Digital Control IC, which is used for extreme environment space electronics. The first piece of code is named Startup Read Only Memory (SuROM) and is executed only during power-up of the chip. The second piece of code is known as the application program and is executed after all instructions are loaded into the on-chip Static Random Access Memory and upon the receipt of the "execute the SRAM 8031 code" command from the host controller.
