The cooperative vehicle-to-infrastructure system (CVIS) is based on fully advanced technology of space-time dynamic transportation information collection and fusion. With all-round implementation of real-time information interaction among vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure, a safe, efficient and environmental protective cooperative transportation system is built up. CVIS is a large scale and real-time distributed system involving multi-factor and multi-level relationships. With the rapid development of CVIS technology, modeling and simulation technology in CVIS weighs increasingly heavily. Therefore, a CVIS simulation platform is in urgent need for repeated trials and analysis on complicated traffic scenarios to ensure and enhance traffic safety and efficiency in CVIS mode.On the basis of summarization of CVIS research status at home and abroad, multi-resolution modeling (MRM) theory is adopted and CVIS simulation platform is primarily built up based on High Level Architecture (HLA) simulation framework. In the light of CVIS’s hierarchical feature, the system is divided in three resolutions:traffic flow, application scenarios, and controlled vehicle. MR-DEVS on vehicle entity and roadside equipment are proposed, based on which mathematical descriptions of CVIS multi-resolution coupling model are given in the thesis.HLA-based simulation framework for CVIS is designed, interaction classes for communication primitive in CVIS are defined, and accordingly, FOM/SOM is built up. With the help of COSIM cooperative platform, hierarchical structure model is designed, on basis of which CVIS platform is also built up. In view of system’s command for real-time during simulation, time management strategy of each federal member is discussed and a PPT (Precision Timing Protocol) protocol-based highly accurate simulation clock synchronization is designed. The results indicate that the method effectively resolves clock synchronization problems among federal members, and finally, taking the realization process of the simulation manager for example, HLA-based CVIS simulation platform could successfully display the verification and analysis process. The CVIS simulation platform established in this thesis has passed united testing and commissioning among federal members and proves that the fundamental functionality of the platform could normally perform. The HLA-based simulation framework could meet the simulation demands of CVIS well, and the built-up of platform lays the foundation for the further study in CVIS technology and is of great theoretical value for CVIS development and practical use.
