A Comparative Study Of The Public Sphere

In the course of over three decades of reform and opening up, China’s socialist market economy system has been built preliminarily, with the deepening of reform and opening up and the the awakening of the civic awareness, social structure of China is undergoing changes quietly. The public sphere which originated in the west is increasingly getting more attention by domestic scholars. Habermas to as a representative of the western scholars, trying to build a kind of public sphere structure in the western society, it is between the state and society, as the sphere of public opinin and public communication, characterized by open, criticize and public nature.This paper fully draws lessons from the theory of civil society and the theory of public sphere, it is necessary to study the theoretical basis, such as the scope of public sphere, the characteristic of public sphere and the function of public sphere. The core of this paper is the boundary of public sphere, and the relation between government and public sphere. This research will help the government to realize the role definition and responsibility clearly, it is beneficial to construct the interactive relationship between government and public sphere, and it is good for the development of public sphere.This paper is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction, it includes academic background, significance of research, domestic and international documents, thought and content of research, and also it includes research tool, analytic specialty and research innovation.The second part will induce and compare the domestic and overseas basic theory of public sphere, such as the concept of public sphere, the characteristic of public sphere and the function of public sphere. The third part will pay attention to the scope of public sphere, it is import to distinguish the private sphere, the public power sphere and the public sphere. The fourth part will discuss the relationship between government and public sphere, show the dilemma between them, the last of this part brings forward advice and countermeasure in how to optimize relation between government and public sphere. The fifth part is the conclusion, this part will show the coin point of this paper, and point out that the research direction of the future, it is beneficial to strengthen the contact between the public administration and the public sphere.
