The Archives Users Use Demand And Information Behavior Research

In modern archives management, the idea of putting people first should be carried out through the whole process to provide more advanced service mode. Research on file users needs emphasis, and users’demand must be taken as tenet to bring up more scientific, effective archives management improvement measures, as well as to put up safer, more efficient and precise service.Archives departments need to pay close attention to users’needs of usage. To know users’demands, we must be aware of users’psychology first, master it’s laws and trends to advance with the times and serve users. Archives departments also should focus on users’utilization behaviors earnestly. Utilization behaviors of different groups have both generality and divergence. Archives departments need to seize users’ convergence to realize interaction among users of same kind; moreover, we must attach importance to difference of behaviors to provide archives information services of all kinds well.This paper is made up of five parts:The first part is an introduction. This part looks back over related literature of home and abroad, and brings up study objective and meaning of this project; then it elaborates its research status of home and abroad; it also introduces research methods, thoughts and meaning of this paper.The second part focuses on analysis on file users’needs of usage. This part carefully analyzes their causes and characteristics; also it classifies file users into different groups particularly, and analyzes needs of usage of each group separately; then this paper classifies file users as individual users and collective users to analyze need divergence of different groups; at last it concludes development trend of file users’needs of usage.The fourth part puts forward the countermeasure, first proposed the serious study of archives users use demand method, namely attention user use demand, stimulate user use demand, in-depth development of the use of user information; then put forward the suitable application of active archives users use the countermeasure of The third part emphasizes analysis on file users’utilization behaviors. Firstly this part analyzes manifestation of utilization behavior in detail; then it probes motivations of file users’utilization behaviors, and addresses each of them with their manifestation; lastly, it comes up with strategies to improve behavioral standard of file users.The fourth part puts forward strategies. Firstly it raises ways and means to conscientiously study file users’needs of usage, which means emphases on users’ needs of usage, arousing it and further exploitation of their information use; next it proposes strategy to actively adapt to file users’utilization behaviors, which is to coordinate and meet users’needs by introducing customer relation management and crisis management.The fifth part is prospect, which raises that conditions should be created to strive for meeting file users’needs and beneficial interaction of utilization behaviors. And it summarizes the whole paper.
