With the mature development of computer and communication technologies, all walks of life depend more on the computer system. For the telecommunication operators, they are the leader of the communications industry, and their communications centers are the hub of the business. Therefore, to real-time control the communications center’s information, protect its security and retain stable running for all the network equipments are the premise for the communications business to be normal operation. As it happened that the power system or the environment of communications center has a fault, which lead to abnormal of the network equipment and access business, there will be not only have business interruption but lead to the loss of money, people will be question the telecommunication operator’s network quality. The influence and effect will be extensive. Obviously, to install a full-featured power and environment monitoring system for every communications center is imperative.For the situation of the monitoring system hasn’t been realized in a large number of the teltcommunication operator’s access network room and base station, the paper focuses on the installation costs and difficulty, designs a power and environment monitoring system which based on ZigBee wirless sensor network and ARM-based embedded control center. By the corresponding discrete sensor, the ZigBee wireless sensor network completes of the acquisition and transmission of the power and environmental parameters in the communications center, and it selects cluster tree network topology and the CC2430chip as the core of ZigBee wireless communications standard module, which carry out the wireless data acquisition and long-term stability running of the monitoring system.Embedded control center responsible for the data monitoring,upload the data to a remote monitoring center and output sound light and SMS alarm signal. The article selects the embedded chips, which based on the ARM9architecture and made S3C2440processor as its core, as its hardware, and open source stable Linux operating system as its software, embedded the Web server which supports the CGI script. The embedded control center realized the manager’s remote configuration and management for embedded devices and data redundancy through the Internet and GPRS dual network biography.Wireless data acquisition eliminated the labor and materials costs for laying cable, reduced the devices and maintenance costs, avoided the damage from monitoring system cables to the computer lab environment, reduced the cutover cable transformation workload which caused by the communication center’s expansion, alteration, relocation, network reconstruction or system upgrades, the design of embedded control system made managers in the remote monitoring center get the communication center’s real time status quo, he or she can also remote management, which to achieve a quickly locate for the failure, to improve the efficiency of network operation and maintenance management. It greatly reduces the maintenance operation and maintenance costs and improves the network operation and maintenance efficiency and also service quality.This is a preliminary exploration for the ZigBee wireless communication technology spans the monitoring filed, with the network and testing laboratories in a specific environment which can be implemented by the IAR development environment, it has verified the feasibility for the ZigBee technology that used in the communication center, and it has the reference for the ZigBee technology to further development in the monitor area and forward to the new areas.
