After the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Party Central Committee of CCP showed remarkable capability of mobilization toward rural areas, and the realization of the mobilization had important connection with the concrete action that our party performed direct guidance and education in rural areas through radio, especially rural cable radio. The China National Radio (hereinafter referred to as CNR) as our party’s mouthpiece was the core of all other Chinese radio stations. And it played a major role in the process of the performance of direct guidance and education in rural areas. Its influence expanded constantly with the improvement of the radio network, and it reached a peak after the spread of the rural cable radio. The principles and policies of the Party Central Committee of CCP, first issued by the CNR and then rebroadcasted by each local radio station and transmitted by the rural cable radio network and finally propagandized by big and small loudspeakers throughout the rural areas, were directly conveyed to millions of Chinese farmers. And in this way our party realized that the central government directly guided and educated the farmers. The CNR designed programmes consistently according to the central tasks of the Party Central Committee of CCP. And its programmes set the basis for those of all the cable radio stations in rural areas and they were also taken as the core as well. This way ensured that the spirits of our central government could be conveyed to the rural areas quickly and accurately. The news, artistic and educational programmes of the CNR were full of purposes of political propaganda, among which red song, slogans, broadcasting conventions and propaganda of "leader worship" played a prominent role in guiding and educating the society. Through the guidance and education of the CNR, the rural social order was integrated, thought and action were unified, organization and mobilization were realized, which created favorable conditions for the socialist construction. But because the broadcast was characterized by one-way transmission, the feedback on the information propagandized by the broadcast was weak and then the farmers’emotion could not be sent timely to our central government, so that the "leftist" thought within our party had not been controlled for a long time and it brought a negative effect on the social life and social order.
