Design Of A Remote Mobile Video Monitoirng System Based On ARM9

In recent years, due to the rapid development of thecomputer and electronic technology, the embedded videomonitoring system got rapid progress because of its keyposition in security system. The traditional system couldn’tsatisfy us because it must be connected with cable, which madeit difficult to upgrade the system itself. Therefore, the studyof how to use a new generation of embedded system to realizethe wireless video monitoring system became a hotspot.With the demands rising, the early embedded processorcannot meet the needs of people, then ARM system came into being.This paper introduces ARM embedded system with the SAMSUNGS3C2440A chip and the Linux system. The goal is to realize ahand-held video monitoring system.We chose the S3C2440A chip, because of its ARM920T kerneland main frequency of400MHz. Through the integration ofNANDFlash memory interface, the USB device interface, the resetcircuit and other peripheral circuit we construct the hardwareenvironment. We chose the ZC301P based camera and the TL-WN321Gwireless network card as the equipments. After building the cross-compiling environment, we usedU-Boot software to load the system. The article chose the kernelvision of2.6.30.4, which contains the advantages of thesupport of more file systems, the modifications of the drivers.These advantages led to a more rapidly operation. Using theBusybox tools we set up the YAFFS file system, then transplantit to the ARM platform.At last this article described how to drive a new deviceon this embedded system, and made some detailed test based onthis system.Because of the characteristic of embedded system, theproject was building of block design, which would bring abouta lot of conveniences during the redevelopment.
