With the rapid development of computer technology, semiconductor technologyand electronic technology, etc, the surveillance technology based on embedded mobileimage has been developing rapidly. The embedded mobile image detection systemshave a wide range of applications in the field of industrial control, warehousemanagement and anti-theft system with the advantages of low cost, small size, flexibleuse and content-rich information. This paper designed an embedded mobile imagesurveillance system based on the Linux operating system, and it took ARM as themicroprocessor.This embedded mobile image surveillance system took the Samsung S3C2440chip,based on the ARM920T kernel, as the center of the central control and data processing,using ZC301P USB camera to complete the judgment and data acquisition of themoving image and had a audio alarm device by connecting the UDA1341TS sound cardto the stereo, then through the NIC chip DM9000transmitting the collected images to aPC server, finally the PC server automatically compressed the image and sent to thespecified mailbox.This article first introduced the overall system hardware structure design, on thisbasis, has carried on the analysis and introduction of microprocessor and its peripheralhardware, including the system power supply, memory, JTAG, serial port, USB, camera,sound card and network card, etc. Secondly, the software design of this system includedsystem software and application software. The system software part included installingvirtual machine, Linux operating system and a cross-compiler, modifying andtransplanting the Linux kernel and the U-Boot, making Linux root file system andmodifying the embedded development environment, such as the transplant systemdevice drivers. The application software part was divided into the design of theembedded client application and PC-side applications. In which the embeddedapplication was used to judge whether images are moving within the scope of a camerasurveillance, starting image acquisition and data transmission when the image is moving,and triggering the alarm devices, and finally judged whether the system needs to sleep;The role of the PC-side applications was automatically compressing and packaging andsending to the specified mailbox when the PC received the image information.The last we carried out a test for the embedded mobile video surveillance system,the results showed that the system can realize the moving image detection, image dataacquisition and transmission, system alarm and dormancy and PC-side imageinformation automatically compressed and sent to the specified mailbox.
