With the development and popularity of computer technology, the management of allareas in people’s daily life is constantly automated and computerized, to achievestandardization of the management mechanism, thus providing for people’s daily lives morecomfortable and secure environment. However, with the increasingly fierce competitionamong enterprises, using high-tech means to manage the enterprise, achieving overall officeautomation of enterprises, and rapid flow of information, have not only become aninevitable trend of improving the economic efficiency of enterprises, but also to adapt tomodern society, comprehensive business requirements.Product Information Management System is a way the enterprises manage internalproduct information, it is based on the actual fact of internal product management forwritten, and its main purpose is to facilitate business to manage internal productinformation. Early enterprise managed internal product information is based on the manual,this kind of management that as paper and pen the main tool is a complex, nuanced andrequires patient work, especially when there is a large amount of product information, notonly caused a great deal waste of manpower and material resources, but also waste a lot oftime. At the same time, there will inevitably be human errors in statistical process. With thecontinuous expansion of business scale, the rapid growth of internal product information,this kind of manual-based management will become a bottleneck in the development of allaspects of business. Therefore, through the establishment of enterprise product informationmanagement system, the user can achieve automation and systematic management on a lotof product information within the enterprise simply by operating a computer. Theestablishment of enterprise product information management system, not only instead of alarge number of artificial statistics and calculation, but also deal with enterprise productsinformation, and not only ensures accurate, fast data output in the whole process, but alsocan use computer add up and analyze relevant information, these advantages can greatlyimprove the efficiency of enterprise management.This paper based on this background, through the actual investigation of productinformation management work within the enterprise, and accessing to relevant literature on this basis, based on MIS technology, and made full use of computer technology andobject-oriented programming method, using Java language and Microsoft Access databasedesigned and developed the product information management system.In the process of studying and designing the system, the main research work is asfollows:(1) Systematic studied and researched the relevant theoretical knowledge of theProduct Information Management System.(2) Through actual investigation of the Product Information Management, analyzed thefeasibility of Product Information Management System from the technical, economic,social factors and operation. According to the requirements of users, analyzed the functionof the system, and gave the requirements analysis of the system and the developmentobjectives.(3) According to the functional requirements of Product Information ManagementSystem, this paper divided the function modules of the product information managementsystem for six modules, which are the system management module, product informationmanagement module, storage management module, a database management module,inventory management module and the data manipulation module, and designed the mainfunction of each part, and gave the design of the function of the whole system and thedesign of database structure.(4) According to the design of each functional module in Product InformationManagement System, this paper presented the detailed design and implementation of eachmodule.The system testing shows that the system is running well, achieving the desired results,and the interface to human design, allowing users to easily grasp and use the system,basically meet the needs of users.
