Bethune Second Hospital of Jilin University is a comprehensive clinical faculty, with nearly40departments, more than100physicians and thousands of beds. Withthe constant development of China’s health care reform, the hospital’s hardwarefacilities are constantly improved. To catch up with the pace of International MedicalResearch, the hospital has made great efforts to import world class medicalinstruments. Presently, the hospital has the world’s leading nuclear magneticresonance machine, the MX8000D multi-slice spiral CT machine, excimer laserlight-bending series of corrective instrument, ophthalmic argon/krypton laser andYAG laser, automatic biochemical analyzer, cobalt-60radiation therapy machine morethan300pieces of large equipment. For patients with advanced equipment inspectionand inspection services at the same time, how to manage and maintain thesophisticated equipment available, how to maximize the optimization of capital use,the introduction of reliable quality, cheap medical equipment, as placed in the DeviceManager the great challenges of the staff. This article shows the design and implementation of a medical equipmentmanagement system. The first part of this paper is the analysis of requirements fromthe practical work of the management of hospital equipment, concrete analysis of themacro needs of the medical equipment management, namely, the robustness of thesystem. Most of the system users are domain experts and scholars, even for manyyears. Although they are leaders in the medical field, they are only novices in the IT,network applications and computer software. This does not only require the system tobe fault tolerant, reliable, sufficiently guaranteed, but also easy to operate andconvenient in UI. Otherwise, training and management system before system on linewill be the bottleneck of the system. In addition, the system tends to achieve theintegrated management of medical devices, with the number of diagnosis andtreatment, the statistical functions of the monthly profitability, efficiency rating andother data; the system should be able to customize the evaluation criteria, according toa certain degree of concern, to estimate the profit level of the equipment. Then, the article analyzes the device management of specific business processes, mainlyincluding the planning of the asset; health materials into the library; fixed assets in/outof the storage, the deployment of maintenance, depreciation scrapped, balance ofpayments statistics, etc., to further clarify the specific requirements of the system. Thesecond part of the article is about the schematic design. It discusses the overallframework of the system design. The system is divided into six sub-modules as theplanned procurement, warehouse management, quality management, measurementmanagement, information management and scientific management. Detailed designfor each module is discussed, including the storage management, interchange amongdepartments, data management, and other functional modules. The various functionalmodules are illustrated with the flow chart. In addition, the backend database systemsare shown on the detailed design, with the system class diagram. The third part, thearticle describes the concrete implementation of the system. The system uses amulti-window C/S structure. With the procurement module as an example, it showsthe interfaces of the procurement plan, the procurement, contracts, inspectionmanagement, comprehensive inquiry and contract statistics involved. The fourth partgives the working environment of the system, installation configuration, and testresults in our hospital. An outstanding character of this system is the medical equipment benefit analysisbased on all existing equipment and the new purchased equipment. The statistics ofthe annual earnings of all equipment’s, is divided by month the total number ofweighted average to calculate the monthly average of all equipment profit margins. And the monthly profit margin concern equipment more than the average profitmargin as a percentage of the standard measure of equipment efficiency rating. Andthe article develops a set of grading standards to measure the effectiveness of themedical devices. Knowledge to prepare for management decision-making.This system implements the basic functions of a medical equipment managementsystem, and has been exploited in the Bethune Second Hospital of Jilin University.Limited to my ability, there are still some deficiencies will be improved in futurework.
