With the accelerated pace of China’s informationization, and our higher demandfor wireless applications, Wireless Personal Area Network has been widely researchedand used at home and abroad, as the latest outcome of closed mobile communicationtechnology. Wireless Body Area Network, which is using WPAN in healthcare field,can meet the need of health care, sports competition and other fields. monitoringhuman body physiological signals, and it is portable enough, so it has graduallybecome the focus of WPAN area.The research and the application of wireless body area network is beneficial tomonitoring human physiological signals, improving the therapeutic level and extendinghuman’s life. And it plays an emportant role in solving the problem of the lack ofmedical resources and medical staff. However, the research and development ofWireless Body Area Network is limited by node energy supply. The energy has becomean important factor impeding the development of wireless body area network. At thesame time, the traditional research of Body Area Network focuses on the concept ofthe network composition. few studies have related to the upper computer softwaresystem, which greatly reduced the effect of Wireless Body Area Network.To solve above problems, we had researched a variety of closed communicationstechnology, put forward using ZigBee as the communication means of Wireless BodyArea Network system. It can greatly reduce network nodes’ energy consumption ansimplify the network. On this basis, chose appropriate network topology and hardwaredevices, and design a complete set of Wireless Body Area Network system.To ensure the integrity and efficiency of the system, Now domestic Wireless BodyArea Networks are lack of upper computer processing system, so.we designed andimplemented the host computer software system and physiological signal database of the Body Area Network to meet the needs of the medical monitoring and diagnosis. Itspurpose is to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the system.The host computer information processing system is object-oriented, and serialcommunication technology, Microsoft Foundation Classes technology andmulti-threading technology are used. Based on the characteristics of medicalmonitoring, we design the functional structure of the software system and divided thesystem into five functional modules. The visual programming environment Visual C++and SQL Server databases are used to complete the task. Each module has a detaileddescription and corresponding program. The complete set of PC application softwarefor Wireless Body Area Network has several basic functions, physiological signalreal-time monitoring, historical inquiry, automatic alarm, automatic adjustment,manual adjustment and other functions. In addition to monitoring and alerting, thesystem also has a unique feature, automatic adjustment. in order to achieve moretargeted physiological signal monitoring, different people could take differentmonitoring methods. The overall software system has a friendly interactive interfaceand is easy to be operated. It is safe and reliable to monitor physiological signal andhas a large data storage capacity. High accuracy and rapid data processing are also itscharacteristics. Tests of the host computer software system proved that the system canmeet the needs of remote health care to patients and it is useful to monitor userphysiological signals. The monitoring provides a large number of objective data fordoctor’s diagnosis and first aid.
