With the advent of aging society, stroke patients with body motor functional dysfunction make adramatic increment. Those subjects who suffered stroke must receive motor function rehabilitationtraining. Robot-aided neurorehabilitation is a new motor rehabilitation technology, and in therobot-aided neurorehabilitation, health state and physical recovery condition for stroke patientsmust be real-time monitored so as to make instructions for training modes and therapy controlmethods. In order to solve the deficiency that rehabilitation evaluation is only performed before andafter the rehabilitation training process, a smart rehabilitation monitoring system based on wirelessbody area network (WBAN) is developed, which includes:Firstly, recent researches on rehabilitation monitoring system implementation at domestic andforeign have been analyzed, and the principles of rehabilitation monitoring system designing forrobot-aided neurorehabilitation are also given, which has been laid a good foundation for thesubsequent research.Secondly, wearable sensor nodes for electrocardiogram (ECG), electromyography (EMG), skinresistance and body-temperature parameters were designed based on the Crossbow IRIS hardware platform andTinyOS operating system. Multiple physiological parameter network monitoring system was then constructedusing ZigBee technology, and human-computer interaction graphical user interface was designed using VisualStudio and NI Measurement Studio.Another, in order to verify the effectiveness and reliability of the implemented monitoringsystem, several participants were enrolled and different physiological parameters were detected byevoking several kinds of emotion state. Emotion recognition results based on the detected multipleparameters demonstrate that the designed system is reliable and practicable.Finally, some conclusions and shortcoming were given, and future research and task were alsopresented.
