Fluorescence spectrophotometer has become the best analysis instrument for tinypolymer compound measurement and biological material detection in the fields ofbiochemical, medicine, health, environmental protection and the others because of itsextremely high analytical sensitivity and excellent selectivity. Fluorescencespectrophotometer can be used to analysis qualitatively and quantitatively with no destroy onthe physical and chemical properties of sample. It has fast analyzing speed, high accuracy,low cost. and no pollute on the environment.The development history of the spectral instrument is reviewed, the working principleand basic structure of the spectrophotometer is introduced in this paper. This paper putforward a holistic design of the spectral instrument with multi-MCU control system bycomparing and analysis the structure and the properties of the relative products. The designthe optical system and hardware of the control system for the fluorescence spectrophotometeris given, the software of down and up layer computer is described. Finally, the preliminarilytest of the instrument performance is given.The main work of this paper includes:1. A practical instrument structure is given according to the operating requirements of thefluorescence spectrophotometer. This structure is compactness and reasonable. The tray lightand noise of the optical system is reduced and the precision of the measurement data at thebottom layer of the measuring system is improved;2. An architecture with multi mixed signal chip system--C8051F is put forward based onthe comparison of many kinds of electronic control method. This architecture changes themode from the former one to muli and minimizes the disturbance of each module andimproves the measuring speed and precision. The former one controls many function moduleswith only one chip;3. With multi chip architecture, the design of the e circuit hardwarof the instrument forevery function module is given. Every function of the module tested by using the oscilloscopeand logical analyzer;4. C8051F chip is used as the low layer computer; the control program is finished underthe plateform of Keil uVision2. PC is used as the upper computer; the application software.isdeveloped under the Microsoft Visual Basic6.0platform.
