The small fresh is an emerging sub-culture which is from the Indie-style music. The life-style which they like is natural and simple. They have strong self-awareness and flood of emotions. Most of them have a little bit like literature and art. They prefer nature rather than material society.The paper answers "what is the small fresh" from music, photography, literature and films. It shows the small fresh has personality characteristics. Also, this paper reviews the general awareness and evaluation of the small fresh to explore the skills as a member of this group should have.The young artists and the petty bourgeoisie are also studied in this paper. It finds that there are special contacts among these three. In essence, they are from the same culture.Both endogenous factors, exogenous factors create this sub-culture. The paper placed this sub-culture in China’s urban society to study the effects of Internet and consumer society. The paper found that the Internet has propelled the spread of the small fresh culture. Small fresh opposed to consumerism at first, but they are beneficiaries of the consumer society at last.There are similar sociological characteristics among the people in this group. This paper studied what encourage them to become a member of this group.
