Along with the development of telecommunication, China Unicom has started large-scale application of GSM soft-switching. Testing of 3G (3rd generation mobile networks), NGN (next generation network) and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) are being progressed and a national-area IP Bearer Network has been disposed recently. In such circumstance, it requires Shanghai Unicom to transfer local network traffic to IP bearer. This dissertation will put forward the organization solution of Shanghai Unicom IP Bearer Network.1. In the first part of this article, the actual network state of Shanghai Unicom is researched, and then characteristics and requirements of relative networks have been analyzed.2. To satisfy such requirements, MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) scheme is chosen for Shanghai Unicom IP Bearer Network which is mostly propitious to high-speed IP transfer. Different solutions of MPLS scheme are listed and choice is made according to our company’s requirements. Solutions are provided in detail for different service types, and default parameters of them have also been optimized.3. The article focuses the analysis on the traffic engineering of Shanghai Unicom IP Bearer Network. Traditional shortest-path-first protocols only calculate the minimum path cost of the fabric without considering the actual network status, which will concentrate traffic to the shortest path and some paths will occur congestion while others are idle. To solve this problem, Dijkstra arithmetic has been improved. In the achieved arithmetic, it is possible to record and update network topology, and be able to take full advantage of all paths.According to the design in this article, Shanghai Unicom IP Bearer Network will be able to satisfy the requirements for future three years. The traffic engineering project and software in this article can resolve the problem of unbalanced traffic in a complex network. And the function of automatic differential routing according to different service level can arrange respective business flow properly to realize the differential service. Meanwhile, the software attached can be used in both network layout and network management to analyze the traffic distributing and find out the bottle-neck of network in order to bring forward extension scheme.
