With the rapid development of data services based on IP technology and thecombination of Internet businesses around IP technology, IP network technologies, as themultiple businesses hosting platform, has become the development trend of network, onwhich the booming4G technology and IPTV business rely. Furthermore, with the strongmarket demand in VPN interconnection business based on MPLS technology, IDC businesswith high quality will be the new business growth point in the future. In the face ofcompetition and the needs of the development of the business integration, telecom operatorsneed to make strategic measures of network technical transformation as soon as possible inthe construction of IP bearing network in capable of combining more businesses.The problems and challenges in CN2network (Chinatelecom Next Carrying Network),the IP backbone network of China telecom include out of warranty of equipments, and theshortage of carrying capacity and performance caused by the rapid development of internetbusiness and the loading of IPv6and VPLS businesses. Aimed to the mentioned problemsand challenges, this paper proposes following solutions.Firstly, the overall network architecture is optimized by the demonstration of VRRconstruction project, purchasing new equipments and expanding of capacity and itsflattening adjustment. The structure of entire network is optimized and network operationefficiency is improved though application of new technologies and new equipments, such asselecting100G platform equipment, introducing10GE network link and CN2network linkinto10GE LAN and10GE WAN, recommendation of high-speed link and networkapplication, and comparison of the cases of IGP domain adjustment.Secondly, the bearing plan of various businesses is designed and demonstrated,including the scenario analysis in end-to-end rapid convergence of L3MPLS VPN business,comparing of VPLS cross-domain networking schemes, application advices in UMMTarchitecture of LTE IP RAN business, and comparison of IPTV multicast bearing schemes.Based on the present network of China telecom, the design of multiple businesses hosting network discussed in this paper can be used as a reference for the other internationalor domestic operators to build a new network or reconstruct the present networks.
