With the rapid development of information technology, the demand of people for industrial products is rapidly changed. Thus, speeding up the upgrading of products has become an important factor which needs considering in the development process. This design is available for the 64-slice CT equipment, providing remote online upgrade service. Access the Internet with embedded system on the CT device, and realize remote online upgrading via Internet. In view of this, the issue takes how to use the Internet to make FPGA units on the 64-slice CT equipment be upgraded as the direction and goals for research, and develop a solution to the research at last. For the control panel on units of 64-slice CT equipment, an embedded network unit communication board (UCom board) was designed. It provides a remote online upgrade service. CT users download the upgrade file to the console via Internet, and then use UCom board to download the upgrade file to the FPGA configuration memory via Ethernet. The FPGA device is configured once power this FPGA device on the CT units. Accordingly, the remote upgrading of the firmware on CT equipment can be achieved. The TCP/IP protocol stack is ported into the embedded system on CT equipment for the first time in the design of UCom board, and on this basis, the application layer network transport protocol is defined independently, enabling data communications between Console and UCom board on control panel of CT units. JTAG bus is designed at last to realize the download the upgrade file from Console to PROM used to configure FPGA device.Adopting CT firmware remote upgrading solutions enable the online upgrade of CT equipment for the first time, avoid the losses that may be arisen during the process of manually upgrade, improve the efficiency of product updating and speed up the update cycle of CT firmware. This will be convenient for manufacturers to maintain users’equipment. In the meanwhile, it provides users with facility. The issue is part of the 64-slice CT equipment R & D projects of Neusoft Medical Systems Co., Ltd.
