To realise the economy and reasonable use of hydrological resource, it is inevitable for the water conservancy modernization to adopt scientific measure theory, network communication technology and realises automatic monitoring and forecast of the hydrological date. At present, hydrological monitoring and forecasting system is developing in the direction of the network.The thesis works on embedded hydrological monitoring and forecasting system with network transmission technology research, based on Ethernet and according to the water conservancy scientific main project of the Water Ministry "study on the system of computer network measuring and controlling in irrigated district" and the condition of Zhulu Country, Hebei Province.By constructing Web server in the hydrological monitoring and forecasting apparatus, the hydrological date can access to Internet by Ethernet. So people can look up water information in real time by using browser. The system has realised real—time monitor and forecast of water date based on Ethernet.The thesis introduces the whole construction of this embedded hydrological monitoring and forecasting system, referring to the technology of the theory and the construction of each module and network transmission, discusses the hardware of this embedded water monitoring and forecasting system, including the design of the central processing module based on ARM as micro-processor, the memory module, the network module and the power supply of the system. This thesis introduces the software design of this hydrological monitoring and forecasting system, realising the embeding and transplant of the Real-Time operating system — uC/OS-II, investigates the design and realization of the Ethernet interface module, explants the TCP/IP protocol—LwIP (light-weight) TCP/IP stack which suits to small system, designs embeded Web server based on LwIP stack, realising long-distance transmission of water date by Ethemet.The thesis analyses and discusses the problem fell across in the system debug, and brings forward the next supposition.At present, the transmission of the hydrological monitoring and forecasting system has already worked in Ethernet successfully, which has favorable application and spreadable value.
