Research On The History And Present Condition Of Thai "Xing Xian Daily News"

“Xing Xian Daily News” newspaper has a special status which determines thevalue of it’s information, it’s special editorial policy, business strategy andpsychological approach to readers. In this research we analyze the historicaldevelopment of the “Siam Star” newspaper and its modern state; we also give examplesof some of its most challenging articles.This paper represents an in-depth study on the history of development of theChinese mass media in Thailand from the perspectives of several disciplines: journalism,history, sociology, politics, economics and others. We analyze the history of thedevelopment, main characteristics, cultural heritage and political functions of the ThaiChinese ‘Siam Star’ newspaper taking into consideration the overseas Chinese livingenvironment. Current research reflects how the present social situation in Thailand hasresulted into extensive international exchange Play and how it continues to play animportant role in promotion of the Chinese culture overseas.In this research we use a combination of quantification and qualities researchmethods. We go to analyze the Chinese news reports in the “Siam Star” editions from14of February,2011to28of February2011basing on the Thailand’s social and culturalbackground, historical and contemporary background, multiple methods of research,social environment, the contents of the newspaper itself, editorial policy, newspaper’sstructure, sales, circle of readers and area of distribution, peculiarities of form, theperspectives of development, local social and cultural background, grasping theideological pulse of the local Chinese, analysis of existing problems and developmenttrends, possibility of the spread of overseas Chinese-language newspaper from Thailandinto Southeast Asia.The main problems “Xing Xian Daily News’ is facing are the aging of theauditorium, as the biggest part of young generation doesn’t read the ‘Siam Star’newspaper because of the impact of modern electronic media or simply because theydon’t understand Chinese. In addition, newspaper’s professional stuff often lackeducation, as the learning of the Chinese language has just begun in Thailand whichimproves the perspectives for the development of the “Xing Xian Daily News”newspaper. In order to attract young people to the “Xing Xian Daily News” newspaper,management tries a variety of ways one of which is adaptation to the tastes of young people. In order to promote professional education in the sphere of Mass Media with theChinese language special measures are being taken at the moment.
