Taking the Lianhezaobao, a Chinese newspaper based in Singapore, as its research content, this dissertation combs the history and status quo of Lianhezaobao in detail by applying to methods of literature analysis and content analysis, especially focusing on the challenges and strategic developing opportunities of Lianhezaobao. According to research on Lianhezaobao, it's helpful to news reports in the media of China be adopted by overseas Chinese newspapers after learning about its editing policy and readers'interest. Therefore, overseas Chinese newspapers can offer different perspective on reports of China from traditional western media.Most young citizens in Singapore show no interest in Lianhezaobao is the major problem that Lianhezaobao faces. Lacking expertise staff and the falling of Chinese education makes the future of Lianhezaobao gloomy.In order to break the embarrassment of current situation and attract more young readers, the management of Lianhezaobao had taken a series of actions, including layout adjustments, taking newspaper in education projects and promoting Chinese language education in Singapore.Benefiting form China's peaceful rising, Lianhezaobao attracts more and more readers by providing news happen in China. Zaobao.com, founded on the base of Lianhezaobao's news reports, even attracts Chinese readers from all over the world. It also analyzes the style and sources of the section with an eye to provide a new way for the China's nation image promoting department.
