As an important application field of the Virtual Reality technology, the Virtual Campushas great application value and development space. The Virtual Campus can respresent thebeautiful scence of campus, reflect the history and cultural information of campus, it isvery important for the resources management, planning and propaganda of school. But,because of the defect of Virtual Reality technology, the Virtual Campus still has someshortcomings, such as the interractivity is not good, the reality of scence is not good, thedisplay is not fluent,and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to creat a virth campus, which isrealistic, good interactive and smooth rendering.This paper select3ds max and VR-Platform as the development platform, andcombinded with CASS and Photoshop software, design and finish the virth campus systemof ecit south campus in fuzhou. In the process of making,there are there main work, thethere-dimensional scene modeling, optimization, VR-Platform roaming system generate:(1) Study the construction of the Virth Scence detailed. After, study the3ds maxmodeling method and modeling techniques. We use3ds max polygon modeling method tobuild the building model; use built-in geometry modeling method to build campus sportvenues, such as basketball curt and badmington court model. Use texture mapping toreplace the solid modeling, to build the environment model,such as trees, grass, square,roads and so on. Finally, use bitmap map and UVW map coordinates to map model.(2) After the research on the optimization method of virtual scene, this paper optimizatemodel by simplifyingthe model number, streamline model number and optimizating map.Then, reduce the scence data number, improve the display speed, and slove the problem ofslowly rendering speed in a certain extent.(3) Finally, use VR-Platform Editor to edit, and finish the Virtual Campus System. Thissystem has many functions, such as database query, animation roaming, simulation, multmedia presentations, collision detection and so on.This paper establishes a virtual campus, which has better reality, faster demo scene. Inthis system, it is convenient for the user to interact with the scene, and help school toconstruct the digital campus.
