With the development and perfection of virtual reality, it obtains wide application in every fields, the important application is the university campus. Virtual campus can provide 3d virtual environment, can support for the resource management of real university, environment planning, development of the school and remote access, etc. Virtual campus will be an important developing direction of the informational development of digital campus.Based on the campus of Shandong Information Vocational and Technical College as an example, virtual reality technology is applied in campus, this paper introduces virtual campus construction process, we use VRP to generate 3d virtual campus roaming system, and realize the connect to database function, allows the user to search the detailed information of the object in the roaming, provide more detailed introduction.This paper mainly focused on the modeling of three-dimensional scene through 3dsmax modeling methods. First of all, according to procedure of virtual environment construction, with the"virtual-real"method to realize the construction of the static models. In the virtual scene, models often can't as the same as the real scene, and it can't rendering the scene in real-time, in view of this contradiction, we give the principle of models design, and also optimized the virtual campus modeling. Second, we discussed how to realize the interaction function between users and the virtual scene in virtual reality roaming system, used VRP to realize Man-machine interactive function, connected to database through programming can obtain more information of each buildings in campus. The implement of virtual campus of Shandong Information Vocational and Technical College would help us on the future digital campus .
