Radar becomes more complex with it is applied in various backgrounds widely,moreover, the composition of the radar echo signal also becomes diverse, so how toobtain useful information and remove the noise and clutter becomes very important. Thecomposition of the monopulsed radar echo signal is analyzed firstly in this paper; andthen the method about the radar system processing for the echo signal is discussed;finally, after studying the types of the noise and clutter, the argirithms to detect movingtarget are proposed under the conditions of the fixed ground clutter and sea clutter. Thispaper studies moving target detection in strong clutter background using monopulseradar.The main works are as follows:1. The composition and working principles of the radar system are analysed, andthen the paper discusses the differences of small dim moving target detection methodsin the background of the fixed clutter. All of those focuse on how to extract thecharacteristic parameters of moving target, such as velocity and distance.2. The analog signal of the MF radar echo is converted to digital signal; and thenthe procedure of it includes quadrature detector, clutter elimination, moving targetdetection (MTD), non-coherent cumulative and other steps; at last the characteristicinformation of the target is obtained, such as the velocity and distance.3. After using FRFT to analyze the sea-clutter, a method of amplitude searching isused to detecte the target according to the model of echo signal.When the energy of thetarget concentrates strongly, the amplitude peak will be used to search the target, or elsethe exponent number will be used. Finally, MATLAB is used to simulate the algorithmin this paper, and it proves that the algorithm has a good effect.4. How to write the appropriate driver files and configuration files when using DSPto do some projects is analysed. And then according to some experiences in engineeringpractice, it gives a summary of problems in the process of developing DSP system.Finally, DSP is used to complete the argritm, and the parameters about the target isextracted and analysed in the environment of fixed background clutter and a sea clutter.
