In recent years, the improvement of national economy and science technology, accelerate the speed of social information and make people’s daily lives and communication more closely. Information-based society changes people’s work habits and life style, meanwhile, it challenges automation, information, environment comfort, security of traditional home. Due to which, information affects all aspects of people’s lives, the intelligence and smart of home is born. Network and Artificial Intelligence have been the major applications of current smart home.The Agent technology has been always the important research aspect of Artificial Intelligence. Several Agents working together for collaboration make compositon of MAS(Multi-Agent System,MAS). MAS-demanded collaboration, loosely couples, openly and flexibly work mode provides a new way to research smart home system. Based on it, this paper do the research as follow:Analysis the components and features of smart home system, combined with MAS technology, bulid a smart home system model based on MAS. Analysis and design the function and structure of every level of the model in detail, and then, propose the concept of Agent groups and alliances to research the organizational structure of the model from the integrity.Study the Web Semantics solutions of smart home system, which means that the system built can understand the user’s input and expected ideas and actions. In this paper, OWL ontology is introduced, OWL smart home system ontology semantic model is created by Protege ontology modeling tool and can be shared and reused in the field of smart home system. In the ontology model management, use reason tool Jena to self-define the general rules for personalized service of smart home system, and enable the system to prompt the user context or user preferences for providing proactive action and services. At last, use the distributed Agent development platform JADE(Java Agents Development Framework) to implement the smart home system model based on MAS, and every Agent can communicate with each other within OWL ontology, which is created earlier, and it also make sense of results of self-defined general rules reasoner. In the communication, OWL is used as content language too. The well-done operation verify the MAS and OWL ontology based smart home system research feasible.
