Design And Realization Of Ontology-based Information Retrieval System Model Using Jena

Presently, many information retrieval tools search information based on keyword matching or catalogue, and rarely do more intelligent operations. So, they return very simple and little related information to the users and absolutely it cann't satisfied user's demand."Ontology is an explicit specification of a conceptualization." Using ontology to descript resources, information retrieval systems can greatly increase their efficiency and accuracy. Hence, the ontology-based information retrieval system becomes emphases of the research.The first part of the thesis summarizes the theory and application development of ontoloy at home and abroad. Aiming at the shortage of traditional infromation mechanism, the thesis mentions the conception of intelligent information retrieval system based-on ontology. Next, it addresses the Semantic Web Framework-Jena's system architecture and main component. The last part of the thesis addresses design and realization of the model - an ontology-based information retrieval system.
