With the rapid development of Chinese Higher Education, courses in colleges and universities is more and more abundant, but problems often exist in the courses, for example, the structure is not clear, the connection is not close, effective knowledge sharing is unable to realize. It is not conducive to effective knowledge acquisition, can’t meet people’s cognition rule, and affected the development of modern education process. So How to capture useful information efficiently in the large number of curriculum resources, how to avoid the repeat of course content setting, and how to give full play to the advantage of educational resources in the limited investment in education, have become an urgent problem that need to solve. This paper was based on ontology which was constructed according to 《Modern education technology》 curriculum knowledge points and used Jena development kit for semantic reasoning. The result was applied to the guiding system of course learning. This paper conducted the following study and work:1. Analyzed colleges and universities and network curriculum resources setting, studied the contact of knowledge points among the courses and in the same course respectively;2. A detailed study of the ontology theory, and 《Modern education technology》 course as an example, constructed curriculum knowledge points ontology with a ontology construction tool Protege;3. In-depth study of ontology reasoning machine and its realization technology, and have realized the reasoning function for course ontology with the current mainstream ontology reasoning engine;4. Designed and developed a Jena based guiding system of course learning, which used Jena development kit to analyze and query the course ontology.
