As continuously rising of the living standard, people have come to pay more andmore attentions to safety consciousness. Therefore, it is of great significance toimprove the technology of safety protection facilities. In consideration of this case,Video monitoring system plays a more and more important role in daily life. With thecontinuous development of computer technology, embedded technology, video codingtechnology and wireless transmission technology, video monitoring system trends towireless, intelligentization, digitization, and networking. Wireless video transmissioncan take full advantage of networks built on3G, wireless LAN, etc. Wireless networkcan avoid the problems of locations isolation, high cost in cable wiring, etc. intransmitting video streams. Therefore, the research of a video monitoring systembased on3G wireless network transmission has extremely vital significance.Avideo monitoring front-end based on i.MX27microprocessor has been designedin this subject. Firstly, capture video datas through V4L2with TVP5150chip thatcontrolled by i.MX27microprocessor. And then conduct H.264hardwarecompression coding through ARM926-EJS built-in hardware coding unit VPU uponthis video datas. Finally, send the video streams into TD-SCDMA3G networkthrough SIM5218A wireless sending module with PPP links in data Link Layer, UDPprotocol in transport Layer, RTP protocol using to package video streams inapplication layer. And program a verify interface with C/S network architecturewritten in C++Builder to receive video image datas sent from video monitoringfront-end.Paper mostly accomplishes hardware and software of the video monitoring system.In hardware part, the design and implementation of microprocessor module (SDRAMcircuit, NANDFLASH circuit), peripheral module (USB interface circuit, serial portcircuit, net port circuit, LCD display circuit), video capturing module, power moduleand wireless datas transmission module are presented in detail. In software part, thedesign and implementation of system software and application software are presentedin detail. In particular, the system software part includes: building a cross-compileenvironment, configuring and downloading a Linux operating system (BootLoader,Linux Kernel, root file system), meanwhile the application software part includes: video capturing module, video compression coding module, video wirelesstransmission module and video monitoring testing system.In this paper, a video monitoring front-end based on TD-SCDMA3G network isproposed. Through verifying, it can guarantee that, video image datas captured byvideo monitoring front-end can send steadily to TD-SCDMA3G network, and videoimages received by video monitoring terminal can present very well. In conclusion, itreaches the design goal, and it meets the design requirements very well. This providesa good basis for the research of wireless video monitoring system in future, it is ofgreat significance.
