The human society has entered into the21st century. In the age ofknowledge economy, many countries have paid more and more attention toteachers in the world. In such a new era, education will continue to take thehistorical mission: developing the economy, promoting national andrevitalizing the China, and the importance of education lies in the teachers.So the teachers’ quality and quantity is the key factor played in onecountry’s education. As an integral part of high education, the P.E. teacherin ordinary university will become the restraining factor to the P.E.development of university for their improvement of the quality and thesupplement of professional knowledge. Therefore, college P.E. teachers’training issues are increasingly getting people’s attention.With analyzing the real examples with the methods of documents,questionnaire survey, expert interview,mathematical statistics,analytichierarchy process, and synthesizing the teaching theory, psychology,pedagogy, management and other relative theories, work out the weight of eachlayer factors according to the determination matrix provided by expertconsultation(with AHP). Finally each index in order of importance can be foundas well as the training index system for P.E. teachers in ordinary universitycan be constructed from the perspective of theory. At the same time, this paperstill tries to make systematic study for P.E. teachers’ team structure andpresent teachers’ training status in the ordinary universities of China, andto explore the basic information with efforts so that find the issues andits influencing factors.The results of this study are as follows:1.the training index system forP.E. teachers in ordinary university based on expert surveys, including5indexes in criterion layer,14indexes in sub-criterion layer,44indexes inScheme layer;2.It is comparative reasonable for P.E. teachers’teamstructure in college and the content of the P.E. teachers training in ordinaryuniversity consists of vocational morality, knowledge and ability. the mostcommon training way of the P.E. teachers training in ordinary university ison-the-job training method, with the various organization but the chance forjoining the training is very little;3.In the training management, thecurriculum setting is comparative reasonable, training teachers are mainlyfrom outside colleges, the teaching level is high but the method is very traditional; In training evaluation, the concept of evaluation is obsolescent,lack of enough reliability and validity and an effective evaluation system.4.Training system is not perfect, the influence of policies, laws andregulations is small and their function is not clear, teachers’ motivationfor training is not strong, the training time is short and lack of found, theseare the main factors which has exerted great influence on the P.E. teacherstraining in ordinary university.
