As is well known, learning plays the main part of influencing and deciding human development. According to traditional learning conception, learning is an activity of receiving knowledge from others in professional education institutions. However, in the view of constructivism, knowledge is actively constructed, toppling the traditonal ideas about learning. It holds that what mainly affects learning are individuals and the environment they are in; moreover, the two elements interact with each other. The dependence of learning on environment enlights educators that they should shoulder the main responsibility of creating a good preparatory learning environment for early learners. Then at activity areas in kindergarten, a main learning place for children, how can we effectively help children learn actively? As a matter of fact, the learning environment theory of constructivism is a strong impetus to the creative actions about learning environment. Therefore, in this essay, employing the constructivist learning theory as a theoretical basis, from the three perspectives of learner subjectivity, situation and communication, the writer of the thesis explores how children learn in the environment of activity areas, analyses the present situation and reasons and puts forward the creative design of constructivist-oriented environment in activity areas. Hence in this essay, the writer uses the qualitative method and sampling method to select a small class, a medium one and a large one respectively at an kindergarten in Liuzhou and employs methods of natural observation and interviews to collect data.So far, in researches about the environment of activity areas, there has been no qualitative one which studies it from the perspective of learning and the way theory intergrated with practice. Consequently, this study takes constructivism-oriented environment of activity areas as the research content, qualitative research as the method, aiming to supplement the research of kindergarten environment creation, enrich the theory and enlights the future development of kindergarten activity area environment creation.This study is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, which describes the research question, research background and research methods.The second part includes the literature review, the theoretical basis and those previous research results.In the third part, the writer represents the site observations and analyzes the learning environment of activiry areas in S kindergarten from the three aspects, ie. children’s subjectivity, communication and situation. Then, conclusion is made, the management of teachers and kindergarten causes the absence of subjectivity, the lack of dialogue and negotiation teacher-child interaction and situated learning environment in S kindergarten.In the fourth part, after analyzed the situation of S kindergarten, the writer works out an ideal state of the activity area environment, thus putting forward a constructivism-oriented activity area environment conception:pointing out the elements of the constructivism-oriented activity area and reflecting the foundation of constructivism-oriented activity area.
