Research On Cognitive Frame Of Chinese Noun-measure Words Metaphor

Rich measure words is one of the Sino-Tibetan language characteristic, since the1950s Chinese academic defined the measure words clearly, the research ofChinese measure words is endlessly. In the Chinese measure words systemnoun-measure words occupies more than90%, and largely reflects the characterand of Chinese measure words. The noun-measure words have extremelyimportant status in Chinese measure words system. So the research of Chinesenoun-measure words appears very important. Metaphor as a cognitive pattern ofmankind knows the world widely exists in every level of language. Chinesenoun-measure words in use process there are a large number of metaphoricalphenomenons, namely people use noun-measure words and nouns refer to thingsby measurement. In this thesis the author first introduces the researchachievements of Chinese measure words, and respectively from the Angle ofrhetoric, semantics, and cognition elaborates the research situation at home andabroad. The second chapter briefly describes the Chinese noun-measure wordsmetaphor phenomenon, and its basic characteristics of stability, unidirectionaland analogy. The third to fifth chapter, according to mapping relation between the noun-measure word and center word in a noun-measure word phrase,respectively discusses the Chinese noun-measure words metaphor embodied,prominent, container, and so on three cognitive frames, and further illustrates themain features. Finally, the paper gives a review on the research of Chinesenoun-measure words, puts forward from the perspective of cognitive research ofChinese noun-measure words helps people awareness of measure words andeven the whole system.
