Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine artificial cycling therapy on luteal phase defect infertility due to kidney deficiency; to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine artificial cycling on the promotion of follicular development, the induction of ovulation, the improvement of the endometrium and serum progesterone (P); to analyze the possibility and validity of increasing the pregnancy rate, of improving the clinical symptoms, and of reducing the side effects.Methods:Select60patients diagnosed as suffering from luteal phase defect infertility due to kidney deficiency in the gynecological outpatient service of Fujian Province People Hospital. Then randomize them into two groups:Group A and Group B. Each group has30patients. Group A is treated with the artificial cycling treatment of Chinese medicine; Group B is treated with western medicine (clomiphene citrate plus dydrogesterone). Then observe the patients’clinical symptoms, physical signs, the pregnancy rate, and the abortion rate, including follicular development, ovulation, the numerical value of serum progesterone (P), the changes of endometrium and tongue and pulse. And finally carry out statistical analysis of the results and evaluate the clinical efficacy of two methods.Results:1. Comparison of the pregnancy status of the patients in the two groups after three courses of treatment:Group A and Group B have no significant difference (P>0.05) in pregnancy rate, while they have significant difference (P<0.05) in abortion rate.2. Comparison of the clinical efficacy of non pregnant patients after three courses of treatment: Group A and Group B have no significant difference (P>0.05) in follicular development. In the area of ovulation, the numerical value of P, endometrium and BBT, there is significant difference of the patients in two groups (P<0.05).3. Comparison of the scores of traditional Chinese medical syndromes is as follow:paired Sample T Test and the rank sum test show that there is significant difference (P<0.05) between pre-treatment and post-treatment in the patients of both groups. And there is also significant difference (P<0.05) between patients in Group A and Group B after the treatment.Conclusions:1. With patients in the two groups treated with different methods, there is no statistical difference in pregnancy rate between Group A and Group B. But the clinical efficacy of Group A are superior to those of Group B. And by statistical analysis, there is significant difference (P<0.05) in the improvement of traditional Chinese medical syndromes between the pre-treatment and post-treatment of the patients in both two groups. By statistical analysis, there is significant difference (P<0.05) in the total effective rate of the patients in the two groups. The total effective rate of Group A is superior to that of Group B.2. It has good clinical effect to treat the patients suffering luteal phase defect infertility due to kidney deficiency with traditional Chinese medicine artificial cycling therapy. It can improve the pregnancy rate and decrease the abortion rate. Moreover, it is helpful to the follicular development, the induction of ovulation, the improvement of the endometrium, serum progesterone (P) and BBT, as well as the improvement of traditional Chinese medical syndromes.
