Purpose:(Objective)Luteal phase defect(LPD) is that corepus luteum has bad function and degeneration early after ovulation, so progesterone is little and mucous membrane reactiveness epress, thus hypoevolutism or stop taking place, also ground substance and glandular organ are out of sync, it is not good for fertilized ovum implantation, so barrenness,miscarriage and phenomenon of menstrual disorders. LPD belongs to the category of "irregular menstruation"," infertility"," fetus leak"," fetus move"," supermoto" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Western medicine usually use of hormone replacement therapy, but the therapy contents some defects, such as easy to rebound or relapse when withdrawing and also lots of side effects. TCM therapy has the advantages to overcome these clinical symptoms, and enhance the pregnancy rates. The study is designed to analyze the distribution of the LPD syndrome in TCM, in order to understand its etiology and pathogenesis of TCM in depth. Methods:The study collets the medical records of Gynecology clinic and in-hospital patients of First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM from March 2009 to March 2010 that are diagnosed as LPD, according to the diagnostic criteria of TCM and the different chief complaint doing the disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation for the correlation analysis. SPSS13. Ostatistical software is used in doing the statistical analysis. Result:The patients are between the age of 36 to 40 years old; the courses of LPD are usually between six to fifteen years, in which the ones that are over fifteen years and less than five years are rarely found. TCM diagnosis of LPD form the top of the list are menstrual irregularities,infertilities,"fetus leaks",fetal irritabilities and supermotos. And also the menstrual disorder symptoms of TCM are early menstruations,intermenstrual bleedings,menorrhagia and bradymenorrhea. The top ten most frequent systemic symptoms of LPD patients appear are fatigue,hypodynamia,sighing,bad complexion,dizziness,dreading of cold,frequent nocturia,pale eyelids,mammalgia. The emotional characteristics are depression within,irritabilities and anxieties. Syndromes of TCM are yang deficiency syndrome of the kidney,yang deficiency syndrome of the kidney with liver depression and qi stagnation,the liver depression and qi stagnation,yin deficiency syndrome of the kidney,yin deficiency syndrome of the kidney with Liver depression and qi stagnation,qi deficiency of the spleen and blood deficiency.Conclusion:1. Luteal dysfunction syndromes of TCM are yang deficiency syndrome of the kidney,yang deficiency syndrome of the kidney with the liver depression,the liver depression and qi stagnation,the kidney yin deficiency,the kidney yin deficiency and liver stagnation,qi deficiency of the spleen and blood deficiency. The diagnosis of TCM are menstrual irregularities,infertilities,"fetus leaks",fetal irritabilities and supermoto.2. The emotional characteristics of LPD patients are depression,irritability and anxiety. Of mild and cheerful temper patients are very few. These meet the seven-emotional pathogenic theory of TCM.3. Patients usually have histories of infertility or recurrent miscarriage, these show that luteal phase defect patients often affect the breeding.The pathogenesis location of luteal dysfunction patients usually is in kidneys and followed by livers. These reflect the kidney deficiency and emotional internal injuries play the key role in luteal phase defect (LPD).
