Objective:To provide theoretical and practical basis by summarizing the laws fromanalyzing the descriptions of Hegu(LI4) acupoint in the ancient medicalliteratures.Method:Using the Statistics Methods to analyzing the database established byComputer searches o《fEncyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine》.Result:Summarizethe27kinds of the HF conditions of Hegu(LI4) and the compatibility acupoints of theconditions;The top four compatibility acupoints are Zusanli(ST36),Quchi(LI11),Baihui(DU20),Sanyinjiao(SP6) among the203acupoints which can combine withHegu(LI4).The bladder meridian has the most compatibility points and the highestfrequency while pericardium meridian has the highest average frequency of thecompatibility points;Hegu(LI4)-Fuliu(KI7),Hegu(LI4)-Sanyinjiao(SP6),Hegu(LI4)-Quchi(LI11) are the top two pair points;The quantification for moxibustion is threezhuang while the most common depth of needling is needle-third and the time forAcupuncture is six breath.Conclusion:Hegu(LI4) Has wide main indications and variouscompatible acupoints while the compatible acupoints and the operational methods haveStrong regularity.This study is expected to have certain reference significance to theClinical application of Hegu(LI4).
