Setting Mountain Fire Reinrcing Method Acupuncture Nine Points Treatment Of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation Clinical Study

Objective:To evaluate, compare and summarize therapeutic effect of Setting Mountain Fire Method group and conventional acupuncture group treatment for Lumbar Intervertebral Dise Herniation (LIDH), and with a view to provide the necessary clinical evident for finding a conservative clinical treatment of LIDH. Through the study of traditional technique playing a part in the therapeutic process, clinical workers should attach the importance to traditional acupuncture reinforcing and reducing method.MethodsWith reference to the "the Diagnoses and Effect Standard of Traditional Chinese Medicine Disease (TCM)" instituted by the Administration of TCM and the pharmaceutical industry standard of the People’s Republic of China,80cases of patients with LIDH (from the Heilongjiang university of Chinese medicine subsidiary first hospital the third Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department) were randomly allocated into treatment group (Setting Mountain Fire Method) and control group (acupuncture) of the40cases. The Acupuncture major points were du meridian point and paravertebral point, which were the sides of a lesions vertebral and nearby vertebral. Acupoint Yanglao (SI6) and Acupoint Kunlun (BL60) were auxiliary point selected. Both treatment group and control group chose the same acupoint, while the treatment group with setting mountain fire reinforcing method and the control group with normal reinforcement and normal reduction method. Acupuncture treatment was given once a day, without interval during the course. The time for a course of treatment is two weeks. After a course, observe curative effect and statistical data. Therapeutic evaluation was with reference to "the Diagnoses and Effect Standard of Traditional Chinese Medicine Disease (TCM)" instituted by the Administration of TCM and the pharmaceutical industry standard of the People’s Republic of China. Comprehensive assessment standard of Visual Simulation Scale (VAS), low back pain disorders of JOA, behavior score of BRS-6, Prolo Functional and Economic Results of Rating Scale were used to observe and compare the improvement of pain and quality of life. Data was analysed by using the SPSS17.0software.Results1. After a period of treatment, there were12cased cured,16cased excellence,10cased improved,2cases useless in treatment group, total effective rate was95%. There were7cased cured,12cased excellence,13cased improved,8cases useless in control group, total effective rate was80%. Both methods of treatment in LIDH have good curative effect. The curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).2. After a period of treatment, the post-treatment VAS score of the two groups decreased obviously, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05), but there was no obviously difference between the two groups. After treatment, the curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).3. After a period of treatment, the post-treatment JOA score of the two groups increased obviously, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05), but there was no obviously difference between the two groups. After treatment, the curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).4. After a period of treatment, the post-treatment BRS-6score of the two groups decreased obviously, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05), but there was no obviously difference between the two groups. After treatment, the curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).5. After a period of treatment, comparing with the Prolo score of the two groups, the curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).ConclusionSetting mountain fire reinforcing method acupuncture Nine Points is effective and safe in the treatment of LIDH. It can obviously improve function, decrease pain and improve life quality. It has applied to patients with LIDH, no request for gender or age. And it is worth spreading in treatment of LIDH in clinic.
